Atlanta Report - 80th AA Convention

AA 80th Convention

This was my first time attending an International convention of Alcoholics Anonymous. (They only take place every 5 years) It was quite an experience. Especially because I was there with an wonderful new book to introduce to the community. It was also quite special as I was joined by my brother Rick, and Sandy's daughter, Conway. We attended the opening meeting together which was a very powerful and memorable experience.

People who came to our sales booth were thrilled to see Steps & Stories in print. We discovered that there were many who had been using the CD's to run meetings who had been hoping that someone would make a book from them!!! Who knew! Needless to say I was very happy to learn of this existing interest. It was very enriching to hear people share their personal "Sandy Stories" with us. He had a special ability to create a special bond with all he met during his travels speaking around the country.

Now back home we are beginning to receive wonderful comments from those who have had the opportunity to read the book. My greatest surprise has been the response from people not in AA who have found the book "hard to put down". I hope to publish some of the comments in the next blog post.
